It is pretty close to impossible to malign Rosary High School. It’s reputation precedes it’s fame. ’Rosary’ means ’Garland of Roses’ or ’Rose Garden’. Sadly if some roses do face the misfortune of landing in this school, the thorns(nepotistic grading system) tear apart the petals. I have had the misfortune of being a student at this institution in the 80s and based on what I hear, things have become worse. Discipline at this school is pejorative and any justification of it’s virtues is specious at best. It seems Vinay Aranha, the prodigal runaway son has returned to bring the school to it’s glorious past!!!! I find it hypocritical that Vinay studied in St. Vincent's and not at the same school that his grandparents ran. Maybe the abusive disciplinary system was for other children and not their own. If that isn’t sadistic, then what is?? On the academic front, the school has produced hordes of well trained students, but very few well educated ones. Some people like the school and they have a right to their opinion, but unless you are a masochist, I find it outrageously ludicrous that discipline bordering on abuse is acceptable and justifiable.
