0Candle Magic is one of the simplest methods of spellcasting. Considered sympathetic magic, which is a way that does not require a lot of fancy or expensive ritual ceremonial artefacts. In other words, everyone with a candle can cast a spell. After all, remember when you were a child and made a wish before you put out the candles on your anniversary cake. Same approach, only now instead of just hoping, that is declaring your intention (and now you have probably stopped waiting for a pony). If you think about it, the ritual birthday candle is based on three fundamental principles:
- Decide on a target.
- Visualise the result.
- Focus your intention, or will be, to show this result.
Most professionals will tell you that magical systems, and other aspects of life, size doesn't matter. In fact, large candles can be counter-productive, a candle that takes too long to burn can be very embarrassing for someone working a spell that tells you to wait until the candle burns all out.
Typically, a short candle or votive candle are the best. In some cases, a lot can appeal to a particular kind of candle, like a seven days candle or the shape of the candle, which can represent a specific person. One of the most favourite candles, believe it or not, is, in fact, small candle menorah sold at the grocery store. They are about 4" long, white, odourless and thin, perfect for the spells job.
You should always use a brand new candle for working out, in other words, virgin materials. Do not use candles left on the table or in the bathroom yesterday to work spells. In some magical traditions, once a candle that captures things vibrations around it burned - in other words, a used candle is already contaminated by vibrations, which will lead to a magical ineffectiveness or negativity.
Regarding the colours, you may want to have a handy variety for different magical purposes. Typical colour candles for magic are:
- Red: The value and health, love desire.
- Pink: Friendship, sweet love.
- Orange: Attraction and encouragement.
- Gold: The financial gain or solar connections
- Yellow: Persuasion and protection.
- Green: Financial gain, abundance, fertility.
- Blue Light: Health, patience and understanding.
- Dark Blue: Depression and vulnerability.
- Violet: Ambition and power.
- Brown: Relating to the functioning of the Earth or related to animals.
- Black: Negativity and exile.
- White: Purity and Truth.
- Silver: Meditation, feeling, lunar bonds.
After selecting a candle, you might want to oil or dress before burning it. This method makes you establish a psychic connection between the user and the candle itself. In other words, carrying the candle with your personal energy and vibration, and the screening of one's intention in wax before burning. To dress a candle, you need a natural oil - many practitioners like to make use of the grape seed, as it has no smell. Another option is to use the special candle magic oils. Start from the top of the candle and rub the oil in half. Then begin at the base of the candle and rub the oil to the centre, ending with where you stopped the first time in the middle. In some traditions, the anointing is done in reverse - starting in the middle and work your way to the two extremes.
If your job requires herbs, roll up the oily candle in powdered herbs until it covers all around.
The most elementary form of candle magic makes use of a piece of paper using a colour that matches the intent of your candle. Decide what your goal is and write on the sheet of paper, just an example, say we'll make money working. Write your name something that is economically prosperous. In some traditions, you can write your intention in a magical alphabet, such as Thebes or Enochian. Because this is a work focused on money, would select gold or green paper and a candle of the same colour. Visualise yourself already achieve the goal. Think about the different ways your goal might occur could get a raise? Maybe someone who owes you money come from nowhere to repay a debt.
Once you have written your goal, fold the paper, focusing on your goal all the time. Some people like to say little incantations as they do this - if you are one of these people, this is a right place to do it. It should not be something extraordinary just little sayings to impress your goals into your heart will do just fine.
Place a corner of the folded paper in the candle flame and allow it to go up in flames. Keep the paper as long as possible (without burning your fingers), then place it in a container or a fireproof jar to burn completely on its own. Let the candle burn completely. When the candle burned down, discard it rather than save it to use again for another job. Usually not much is left of a candle, but a piece of wax, and can be buried either outside or dispose of in any way you choose.
