Historically speaking, the English were one of the invaders, who with their shrewd and diplomatic nature were able to colonize most of the countries around the globe. Though the were others, only the English were successful in holding their reign over countries for a long time. During this period their influence on the natives was very deep rooted. Until the native countries were freed from the rule of British/ English, the native country was run as per British rule. There by making English language a an in separable part of their lives. Also as the countries developed it was much easier to communicate in a language known to the majority of the population. Hence most countries regard English as a pre requisite.
