In fact, it’s extremely crucial to know the basic safety guidelines for swimming at the same time. Therefore, below are the few points concerning the safety rules.

1. Do not let your child swim when there is no lifeguard. Remember, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death to children as per the National Safe Kids Campaign. Therefore, being a responsible parent, do not let your child swim when there is no lifeguard because life is highly unpredictable and it simply increases risk.

2. Do not swim under the influence of alcohol or any other drugs as it increases the risk of injury or drowning. We all comprehend that the first sign of being drunk is a lack of bodily coordination. Remember, swimming requires a lot of coordination, including hand and leg coordination and so on.

3. When it comes to safety, we have heard “avoid diving in shallow water”. It is because diving in shallow water is like throwing a stone on the wall. Simply, the risk to cause serious injuries is extremely high.

4. Lifeguard always instructs us not to swim when and during a thunderstorm. The logical explanation behind is that thunder is the sound caused by lightning and lightning is a sudden electromagnetic discharge. Keep in mind, this discharge or release frequently strikes water and water conducts electricity, which causes serious injury and even death.
