Hi, UPSC civil services exam is one of the most toughest exam,it is also mother of all exams . The Reasons for Disheartened during upsc preparation are as follows 1) The nature of an exam which consists of three stages a) prelims b) mains c) personality test 2) DURATION- the total length of exam is almost a year for example for 2018 prelims exam on 03/06/2018 mains 01/10/1018 for 5 days ,personality test would be around march 1st week. 3) Lack of consistency in preparation 4) Lack of Right guidance 5) Lack of group (serious candidates often form a small group ) 6) Not adequate information ,role and responsibilities about civils services jobs (IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS-IT) 7)Not maintaining contacts with seniors who are in service or given mains or interview. These are only few general reasons for not concentrating on civils preparation ,Apart from these there are various other personal ,family,financial,social reasons .these are vary from person to person. read less
