NEGATIVE QUESTIONS (WH?)

STRUCTURE:

Wh + don’t/doesn’t + Subject + verb – 1st form + object?

Note: Which/whose + object 1 + don’t/doesn’t + subject + verb – 1st form + object?

Note: Do not add s/es to the 1st form of the verb ( 1st form of the verb given in the verb list ) with any subject used in the conversation when making/framing a Wh negative question.

  • Subject ‘I’ is always treated as first person in the English language and when talking or making wh questions start the sentence with the word What/When/Why/Where/Whom/With whom/From whom/Which/From which/To which/Whose/From whose/To whose with the 1st form of the verb without s/es.

The below questions shows questioning yourself about your own ability or when someone questions your ability or also when you defend yourself in a situation when something said about you is incorrect.

 

  • Why don’t I come every day?
  • When don’t I sing well?
  • With whom don’t I talk?
  • Which chocolate don’t I like?
  • Why don’t I love my family?
  • With whom don’t I speak well?
  • Whom don’t I respect?

 

  • Subect ‘You’ is always treated as a second person in English language and when talking or making Wh questions start the sentence with the word What/When/Why/Where/Whom/With whom/From whom/Which/From which/To which/Whose/From whose/To whose with the 1st form of the verb without s/es.

 

  • Why don’t you act well?
  • Where don’t you adjust very fast?
