Drawing is base. The more strong base, more strong building. 2D animation require purely traditional drawing skill. You can use softwares for animation, but it has their own limitation. No software can give you 100% 2D animation.

It depends on what part you work in the pipeline of animation production. More technical or more artistic base. But one part is there you need to have good observation skills.

Good Morning , To a extend it will help you if you are good in freehand drawing . But it is not a completion . There are tools in Flash , Toon Boon etc where you can take a Drawing from Corel / Illustrator and use that file or trace to animate it further . Regards Compufield Computer Institute
