"I had enrolled for kannada tuition for my son who is studying in 3rd std. The journey with Meenakshi mam was very good. She was very calm and was continuously helping with his language pronunciation and reading. She was always encouraging. She was telling the importance of Indian languages and how knowing one Indian language will help us to learn the remaining languages. "Words are not enough to describe my gratitude to Meenakshi Ma'am. Couple of months ago, I had a overwhelming need to learn spoken Kannada, what worried me the most is finding the right 'Meastru'. I came upon UrbanPro and they had so many teacher profiles, decision making was tough as I had to choose the teacher for myself. But am so glad that I made the right choice. Meenakshi Ma'am is so passionate and dedicated to the profession. I absolutely had no knowledge in spoken Kannada and she understood that. Below are my takeaways from my interactions and learnings, 1. There is always a bright smile waiting to greet you before you begin each class. 2. Always enquires about your day, health and mental state. 3. Very punctual and always on time for classes. A day before the class, she sends reminders to ensure we are aware and attend classes. 4. Very accommodating. She is to slide me into next available slot if I had to miss class due to work. 5. Her classes are very methodical and she takes time to go through each conversation to make sure we understand and able to grasp on our pace. 6. Her method of teaching spoken Kannada in relation to our mother tongue was very helpful in grasping spoken Kannada. 7. After every lesson, there are exercises to perform. She is very encouraging and motivates us to do well in those activities. 8. Even after making countless mistakes, she took time to repeat and re-educate on my mistakes. Never ever have I ever seen her be frustrated or angry despite my shortcomings. Meenakshi Ma'am gave me the best gift of all… Believing in me! Thank you so much and I really enjoyed learning spoken Kannada. Now I need to do my part, i.e., put the learnings into meaningful conversations as part of my day to day life. "I had a great time with Krishnamurthy teacher for my Kannada class. She’s really proficient at teaching Kannada. When I started learning, I had no Kannada knowledge and I don’t live with people who speak Kannada. Inspite of this, I was able to pick up the language and understand/ speak a lot of it towards the end of the class. I’m so thankful to have found Krishnamurthy teacher! "Highly recommended for all age groups but especially for adults wanting to learn this language for any reason. The syllabus is designed in such a way that it covers almost day-to-day conversation scenarios. Apart from the syllabus, she provides additional self-coaching material like puzzles, online conversations, etc. Ma'am is extremely patient and adjusts to the learner's pace. She is very appreciative even if it might seem a very small task/learning for you which boosts one's motivation and creates interest in continuing to do so. I had opted for reading and writing as well and am glad that I did. Now, I can understand, read and write with 90% accuracy and pace and participate in basic conversations which were 0 when I opted for this class. I am sure with more practice I will be able to grasp complex conversations as well. "In my last 11 years of living in Bengaluru, I think this was my 3rd or 4th attempt at trying to know Kannada like a native speaker and I have tried everything from Rapidex books to Udemy courses but lost my interest too soon and as a result got nowhere. Luckily this August, I came across Meenakshi madam's classes on Urbanpro and I knew immediately that this was gonna be different and turns out it was much better than I had expected :) Her style is very individualistic and so for me she led with written kannada first and now after 3 months I can read and write almost anything in kannada language with 90 percent accuracy. My spoken is of course far from perfection; still struggling with grammatical correctness in longer sentences but it's a matter of practice actually. Another interesting thing I learnt is how Kannada and Hindi use the same framework for sentence formation. All these discoveries were not possible without a good teacher and Ms. Meenakshi is simply the best. Lastly, she's not only a great teacher; she's also one of the nicest people you'd ever meet and so I'd highly recommend her introductory classes specially if you are not from the South but still passionate about learning this language. "The classes are simple and easy to learn. The basic speaking structure of Kannada language would be learned. This helps in the long run as one could easily understand what other native Kannada speakers converse. As far as speaking is concerned, the learner would have to take effort on his/her part to practice his/her speaking skills by practising lessons & materials provided or by talking to other Kannada speaking people. "I learned a lot in these classes - plenty of materials were provided that helped me advance quite a bit with reading writing and speaking - definitely up to a conversational level. "I had an extremely pleasant 30-day learning experience with Mrs Meenakshi. Being a foreigner & a stay home mum in Bangalore, I am proud to say that I can now understand & use basic Kannada in my daily life. At first I had the impression that learning a new language could be overwhelming or even a frustrating journey. but Mrs Meenakshi made it easy & enjoyable with her knowledge and a little bit of humor, but strict when she needs to be. We speak everyday (except Sunday) on-time or ahead of schedule via Skype. Mrs Meenakshi was able to customize our lessons to fit my needs. The interactive lessons are very helpful as she also helped me with proper pronunciation in addition to learning the language. She helped me not to feel embarrassed with the way I was trying to learn the sounds correctly and made it very comfortable for me with her patience and understanding. "I'm originally from Tamil Nadu, currently working in a hospital setting in Karnataka. Though I knew some basic Kannada, I was very hesitant when it came to communicating with patients, and had a lot of difficulty relating to them. That's when I decided to join Kannada classes under Meenakshi Ma'am. I should say classes with her have helped me gain a lot of confidence in communicating in Kannada since the first day. Her classes were individualized based on my own needs, and she would take up personal examples while teaching, rather than sticking to a strict syllabus. Though I was not able to finish the entire course due to my professional commitments, I should say that from the classes I attended, my Kannada vocabulary and grammar have improved significantly and I'm more at ease while talking in Kannada. Apart from the Kannada lessons, I should also say I have learnt a lot of life lessons from her. She spreads a lot of positivity and brightens up your day, and is very patient and optimistic during classes. I'm really grateful to her for making work a little more easier for me now. "

"I am learning Kannada from Meenakshi maam and I highly suggest anyone to learn Kannada from her or any other language she teaches. She is a perfect teacher to learn anything. Every student is unique with different proficiency, passion and intelligence levels. "Mrs.Meenakshi has been teaching my 8 year old daughter Kannada.As nowadays kids are in the verge of forgetting their mother tongue we decided to get her a tutor who can bring back the urge to learn n speak Kannada. And we are very happy to say that we have found a perfect tutor who is and has been successful in bring my daughter back in the right track ??. "Meenakshi ma'am is an extremely good teacher, well versed in Kannada and several other languages. She puts a lot of effort into every class; sending the lessons well in advance, correcting pronunciations and patiently answering doubts. "Being a senior citizen, I was skeptical whether I would fit into the normal way of tutoring students.But Mrs.Meenakshi made me feel totally at ease with her extra ordinary patience,adjusting her method of tutorship to my requirement. Her sincerity ,devotion to the task of helping a person like me to learn a unfamiliar language through the medium of English was amazing.
