Most of the design software are developed by Mechanical engineers who can code! As it is easy for mechanical engineers to understand most of the parameters which are required as foundations of the design. Along with design software even analysis software are developed by Mechanical engineers.
It is not hard for us to understand and learn the development coding language. Mechanical engineer with coding language are the most required talent.

First of all, it depends upon the area you interested in. If you are from a mechanical background, you can learn the CATIA very easily when compared to C, C++. If you have good knowledge in IT means you can go for C, C++ & another language where you can work as a developer for Mechanical CAD software.
