An anode ray (also positive Ray or canal ray) is a beam of positive ions that is created by certain types of gas discharge tube's. They were 1st observed on Crookes tubes during experiment by the German scientist Eugen Goldstein in 1886

Canal rays were discovered by 1886 by Goldstein. These are beams of rays which travel from Anode to Cathode in a discharge tube under high voltage and low pressure. These are also called Anode Rays.
