By adamant, you mean not listening at all or not listening to a particular style like asking for study or eat etc. To take care of him/her, you need to get involved with him slowly. Parenting is the most challenging job in this world, and you can get an appraisal through your patience and efforts to be with the child.

The other perks are:

  1. A soft tone of voice during the conversation, no matter what kind of tantrums the child is through
  2. Catching the child doing things right and rewarding him/her with gestures of love(Hugs, kisses and words of appreciation)
  3. Being firm but not rude or aggressive in a situation of misbehaviour.
  4. Most of the time, it is seen that a child gets adamant because he or she seeks attention; giving them a small task also gives them a sense of being recognised.

Try and let me know how well it worked in your case.

What should I do when my 4 year old child does not listen to me when I request even for brushing his teeth, taking bath, watching TV from distance etc daily habits he tests my patience and if i become angry he backfires and becomes stubborn.
Please don't expect discipline in a 4 year old child and pls don't insist so much on obedience. Instead create an atmosphere of fun/play in which the child deliberately makes the desired action.
