When the cell wall of a cell is made up of cellulose, it is known as the cellulosic cell wall. For example, plant cells exhibit the property of the cellulosic cell wall.
The cell wall which is not made up of cellulose is known as non - cellulosic cell wall.
As cellulose is absent in these cell walls, it can be made up of other molecules like sugars and proteins.
For example, the cells of kingdom fungi have non cellulosic cell wall. Their cell wall is primarily made up of chitin. Algae have cell wall made up of biochemicals like galactans, mannans and minerals like calcium carbonate.
