Difference between Microprocessor and Microcontroller
1. The main difference between these two modules is their functional unit. The microprocessor consists of the arithmetic unit control unit, register. While microcontroller comprises the arithmetic logic unit, control unit, input/output unit, etc.
2. The data transfer commands for the microprocessor is large than the microcontroller.
2. Since for microprocessor, the data is transferred among the microprocessor and exterior memory unit. But in the microcontroller, the transfer of instruction and data occurs in the system since memory unit exits in the microcontroller.
4. The weight of the microprocessor is higher due to the installation of numerous integrated circuits, and the weight of the microcontroller is less.
5. The functional speed of the microprocessor is one gigahertz. But the speed of microcontroller is less almost eight to fifty megahertz.
6. The power used by the microcontroller is less than the microprocessor.
