Divisibility by 2: Definition: If the last digit of a number is even (0, 2, 4, 6, 8), then the number is divisible by 2. Examples: 24 is divisible by 2 because the last digit is 4. 102 is divisible by 2 because the last digit is 2. Divisibility by 3: Definition: If the... read more

Divisibility by 2:

  • Definition: If the last digit of a number is even (0, 2, 4, 6, 8), then the number is divisible by 2.
  • Examples:
    • 24 is divisible by 2 because the last digit is 4.
    • 102 is divisible by 2 because the last digit is 2.
  • Divisibility by 3:

    • Definition: If the sum of a number's digits is divisible by 3, then the number itself is divisible by 3.
    • Examples:
      • 123 is divisible by 3 because 1 + 2 + 3 = 6, which is divisible by 3.
      • 363 is divisible by 3 because 3 + 6 + 3 = 12, which is divisible by 3.
  • Divisibility by 4:

    • Definition: If the last two digits of a number form a multiple of 4, then the entire number is divisible by 4.
    • Examples:
      • 148 is divisible by 4 because 48 is a multiple of 4.
      • 256 is divisible by 4 because 56 is a multiple of 4.
  • Divisibility by 5:

    • Definition: If the last digit of a number is either 0 or 5, then the number is divisible by 5.
    • Examples:
      • 125 is divisible by 5 because the last digit is 5.
      • 320 is not divisible by 5 because the last digit is not 0 or 5.
  • Divisibility by 6:

    • Definition: A number is divisible by both 2 and 3 if it meets the criteria for divisibility by both.
    • Examples:
      • 210 is divisible by 6 because it's divisible by both 2 and 3.
      • 312 is not divisible by 6 because it's not divisible by both 2 and 3.
  • Divisibility by 7 to 20:

    • The rules for these numbers are more complex and may involve long division, checking for factors, or using specific patterns. Examples for these rules might be more involved and may require further explanation or computation.

 Factors and multiples :

          1.) Find factors for 18:-

Ans: First write the possibility of getting 18 in all tables

For eg :- 1*18=18

                2*9=18

                3*6=18

Then the factors of 18 are 1,2,3,6,9 and 18

          2.) Find multiples of 6 :-

Ans: write all the tables of 6 in order

              i.e 6,12,18,24,30,36,42,48,54,60

3.) Find the  common factors of 24 and 30:-

Ans: Firstly Factors of 24 are :-

             1*24=24

             2*12=24

             3*8=24

             4*6=24

            Secondly Factors of 30 :-

Learning objective:

By the end of this chapter, you will be able to-

  • Define Seed, Parts of Seed, types of the seed
  • Factor required for the seed to grow into new plant or sapling
  • Define Germination & different stages
  • Activities

Fruits with single seed. Fruits name for kids. - YouTube

Lets Recall:

Seed:

It is a part of a plant which sleeps inside a fruit; new plants grow from it when it gets proper condition.

Let's do some experiments to look at what are all the factor necessary for the seed to grow.

Experiment 1:

Sow the seed on the soil and keep the seed on the floor

Observation:

The seed on the soil growing whereas seed on the floor remains same why it so?

Conclusion:

All the seeds need SOIL to give birth to a new plant.

Experiment 2:

You can place seed in the garden, but with the same seed in the darkroom.

Observation

The seed with light gives the new plant. But what about the seed without light why it so?

Conclusion

Sunlight is another factor necessary for the seed to give the new plant.

Experiment 3:

Place the pot with water pot without water.

Observation

The pot with water grows healthy and green, whereas the pot without water is not growing. Why it so?

Conclusion

Water is the basic and necessary factor for the seed to grow. By doing this experiment's will get to know that soil, water, sunlight and air are the fundamental factors required for the seed to give the new plant.

GERMINATION OF SEED AND STEPS INVOLVED:

Class 5 Science | Plant Germination - Learn about Seed Germination | Pearson - YouTube

Define Germination?

Germination is the process by which a plant grows from a seed.

The journey of seed to seedling passes through many early stages those will discuss in details.

  1. When seed placed in moist soil, it absorbs the water around it, the water then reaches the beginning of the baby plant or the embryo within the seed. This makes the embryo grow and increase in size.
  2. Eventually, the embryo brakes open the seed coat and come out of the seed.
  3. The root comes out first and grows into the soil. This fixes the baby plant to the soil and helps root absorb water and nutrient from the soil.
  4. Then shoot comes out of the seed and starts to grow towards the sun. The first pair of leaves come out of the seed with the shoot are called cotyledon.
  5. the root grows longs the shot becomes green and sprouts more leaf this is a young plant is called seedling or sapling
  6. Of all stages of germination, essential condition or factors are required.Related image | Germination, Seed germination, Seed dispersal

Future Simple Tense is used in the following situations:

1. When we talk about a situation or activity which will happen in the future.

The concert will start at 5 p.m.
One day you will understand everything.
We will go by tram.

2. Future Simple Tense is used when we make a decision at the time of speaking.

I will switch off the radio.
I will go and bring some more bread for supper.

3. When we predict that something will happen.

I think he will arrive next week.

n case of Future Simple Tense it is difficult to name any specific words which are used along with this tense. All the expressions which imply that we refer to the future can be seen as an indication that we talk about the future. Remember though that expressions like: next week, next month, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow can be also used with other tenses.

Probably

I'll probably be home late tonight.

I expect

I haven't seen Peter today. I expect he'll call this evening.

(I'm) sure

Don't worry about the test. I'm sure you'll pass.

(I) think

Do you think Peter will like the gift we bought him?

(I) don't think

I don't think the exam will be very difficult.

I wonder

I wonder what will happen.

I hope

I hope Bob will pass the exam.
I hope Bob passes the exam.

Fill in the correct future tense - will future, going to or present progressive.
1. They  (drive) to New York tomorrow morning.
2. I hope the weather  (be) nice.
3. I offered him this job. I think he  (take) it.
4. I promise I  (not tell) your secret to anyone.

9. I  (invite) 50 people to the party, and I hope everyone  (come).
10. That exercise looks difficult. I  (help) you.
11.  he  (go) to the football match?

When to use 'will/going to'.

When you are plans are definite, use GOING TO. When you dream of doing something, use WILL.

When you’re talking about actions that are far into the future (months or maybe years from now), use WILL. When you’re talking about actions that you will do soon (tomorrow or next week), use GOING TO.

When you want to ask/request for something, use WILL). When you’re expecting/anticipating something to happen, use GOING TO.

Finally, when you promise something, use ‘WILL!’

Simple present tense formula- Subject + verb [s/es].

Third-person refers to a third party individual. It uses the subject pronouns “he,” “she,” “it,” “they.”  Singular nouns, proper nouns, material nouns, abstract nouns, and uncountable nouns take 's' or 'es'. Plural nouns don't take 's' or 'es'.

Examples

India accepts all religions. [ The term 'India' is a proper noun]

Indians are affectionate people.[The term 'Indians' is a plural noun.]

Gold shines brighter in the dark.[The term 'gold' is a material noun.]

Beauty lies in heart not looks. [The term 'beauty' is an abstract noun.]

  • Most verbs in English form the third-person singular by adding -s to the base form (singsgivesrequires).
  • Verbs ending in -ch, -s, -sh, -x, or -z form the third-person singular by adding -es (watchesmissesrushesmixesbuzzes).
  • Verbs ending in a consonant + y (such as try) form the third-person singular by changing the y to i and adding -es (tries)
  • The third-person plural noun does not take 's' or 'es'.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Example sentences-
