Yoga is meant to be taught in a teacher-student environment. You can learn the basics of Yoga by reading a book or following an online video, but if you are really interested in growing in the practice it is best to meet with a teacher. Group classes are helpful, but private sessions are most powerful when it comes to getting the best results.
