I have 2 years of experience in engineering design (instrumentation and control), but my background is BCA (Bachelor in Computer Application). Can I move back to IT industry? What course is preferable for me to enter in IT industry?

You should think about these roles before you choose one:

1. As a software engineer, you'll need coding knowledge/experience for this.

2. As a Business Analyst, you'll need more analysing skills and communication competencies.

3. Test Engineer, you'll need necessary skills on Manual/Automation testing.

Apart from these, there are specialisations in each of these choose accordingly.

Look for Embaded systems or IoT cources. Your background in engineering design (instrumentation and control) will help you a lot to pick it up fast. It is is a niche sector as most of the IT people will not easily understand that area. As well as all are talking about Industry 4.0, that is the upcoming area you should target.  

BCA gives you an immense opportunity in the IT industry. You can explore Network security as a career and start from scratch. Most people lack understanding for this sector as very few have the professional experience to guide. When I entered this domain, the points that attracted me was job security as well as a challenging role in the industry.

You can come to the IT industry, Recently data analysis has a lot of jobs or AI also, or if you want to pursue your career in ERP, You must come to SAP Technical, because you have a BCA background. Hence, sap technical part is better for you. SAP has enormous demand worldwide and also package very good. Finally, I could say to you in the IT field you can choose any domain, but essential is you must learn end to end, and you will get the job.
