Hi everyone,

In today's class we are going to learn two most important verbs in Spanish. These two verbs are SER and ESTAR.

Ser means 'to be' and Estar also means 'to be', but there are some differences between verbs ser and estar.

First of all both the verbs are irregular verbs, so there conjugations are different with every subject pronoun.

To see the difference, let's conjugate verb SER and then Estar.

Tú (Informal you) eres (are)
Él (He), Ella (She), Usted (Formal you)

Nosotros, Nosotras (We all) somos (are)
Vosotros, Vosotras (Informal you all) sois (are)
Ellos (They), Ellas (They), Ustedes (Formal you all) son (are)

Estar (to be)

Present tense of Estar
