Improve English: Practice Real-Life Conversations

It is challenging to speak English when you aren’t confident about it. You may have spent days and nights memorizing odd new words, learning different parts of speech and reading ‘The Hindu’ to help improve English skills. But when somebody approaches you and starts speaking in English, you tremble. All your effort goes right down the drain.

Why is that? You know all of the grammar rules and learned fancy English terms, waiting to put them into use. All of it comes down to nothing when you don't have the courage to speak aloud. Confidence is key when learning to speak English.

How can we build confidence?
It's pretty simple. Converse. Talk in English as much as possible, whenever you get the opportunity to. Conversations are known to be an excellent way to build language speaking confidence. Listening to a second person speaking in fluent English leaves a great impact on the mind. One picks on vocabulary quickly when communicating with native speakers. Of course, English isn't our native language. But in a country like India, there are plenty of fluent English speakers you will come across. Use them to your advantage by having frequent conversations. Speak with utmost confidence while you do. Do not worry about making errors. Yes, what you say matters, but how you say it matters more.
