Questions and answers

Q.Tell me about yourself?

I am Raghav Reddy. I live in Banjara hills. My hobbies are playing video games and travelling. I believe I am self-motivated because I read a lot of books and watch inspirational movies. I also believe I am quick at learning, making good decisions and overcoming challenging situations.

  1. Mention one of the challenging situations you have ever faced?

It was a tough situation when I was in my final year exams. My Dad was hospitalized. Despite my efforts, I failed and so there was a backlog. I was stressed out and obviously discouraged but I made up my mind and answered again. I stayed up at nights and worked very hard and achieve 70 per cent.

  1. Why should we hire you?

To begin with, I would like to mention my strengths; I am hardworking, committed and determined to succeed. I also consider it my privilege to be able to use my skills to the success of a reputed company. I have gone through the Microsoft website and Microsoft mission mentions that it enables people and businesses to realize their full potential. It would be a great privilege to work for an organization that believes in accessibility and innovative technology. With my willingness to be committed to work and to contribute my skills effectively towards an organization, I am convinced I would be the right candidate for this position.

(*keep in mind that this answer is drafted keeping Microsoft as an example – the company where you are giving an interview. Accessibility and innovative technology is Microsoft mission – do not use these words for any other company but customize your answers based on the company)

Q. Are you comfortable doing night shifts?

I am sorry sir. I would not be able to do night shifts.

  1. Are you comfortable doing night shifts if the job demands?

Absolutely sir. I am flexible to shifts. My career is important at the moment and I can adjust. I believe it would give me exposure to working through different time zones and process.

  1. Can you manage without sleeping?

Of course, it would be a bit tough in the beginning but since I would be sleeping during day time it would be fine. I can always catch up with extra sleep on my day off.

  1. Have you done a night shift before?

No Sir. I have not, but I have stayed up all night during my exams and occasions like family weddings. Of course, working night shifts is not exactly the same as exams and special occasions but I am positive that I will adjust.

  1. Tell me something about your will power?

I believe it is a determination, and effort, a will to say to the things you are not supposed to do and to say yes to the things that will benefit you, no matter how hard it is at that time. I have the will to be successful, to be a better person and a better citizen. So yes, I do have a great deal of will power.

How would you describe yourself?

What are your strengths

What are your weaknesses?

What do you do in your free time?

Why do you want to work for this company?

What part of the job are you most interested in?

What would you like to find in this job that you didn’t have in the previous job?

If we offer you this job how long will you stay with us?

How do you feel about your future in this profession?

Have you had any failures or negative situations in your life?

Are you capable of handling a team?

What is your working style, working alone or working in a team?
