Most people belive in swimming without exhalation, that's not the right way to swim as you can complete distances using one breathe. One must take a deep breathe but you must also exhale the whole breathe out, while taking the third stroke first, you turn to your dominant side and then take a breath and then turn back in, after which every 4 stroke you turn your head to take a breath. Remember the concept, see the fishy and hear the fishy. It also depends on how you kick, you don't kick with your knees bent but you use your hips to kick which also allows your body enough space to turn to have one eye outside the water while your mouth will also have enough space to take that deep breath... So to begin, practice regulating your breathe by exhaling with your nose for as long as you can, so while swiming this gets easier

I want to learn swimming. I stay near electronic city Bangalore. Is there near by swimming coaching centers available near by?
If you find that the memberships are too expensive in resorts, clubs or hotels, try some standard pools with 50 mts where public batches would be available at nominal prices of Rs 30-50 per hour. Hope this helps.
