The answer of this question varies from person to person. It is not easy to give single answer, but by experience some points are important to be noted. The level of the practising yoga instructor increases from year to year and after many years of practise, say ten to twelve, there comes a time of self-healing automatically without practising too much hectically. Those who know what they are experiencing and what level they are reached up to,can very easily take decision as to how much time to devote for self and how much for others, may be in some other form or field they choose. Proper Yoga if learnt and done with experience, helps anyone to be calm and quiet to face life struggle and complete the target that particular person dreams of ! Also daily teaching automatically done helps instructor to take rest as well, isn't it ? Helping others to help themselves is beyond balance, which happens and not purposefully done for fame and minting money. Yoga does not mean simply physical fitness,or muscular power,or six-packed abs,but using our body, mind for self as well as for others too by thinking spiritually, not always by selfish mind, but by our heart. Balancing of all chakras, applying bandhas, practising mudras, awakening of kundalini energy, plus meditating to become more and more subtle and live with peace and harmony ! Many things the trained yoga people practise 24 hours a day unknowingly, effortlessly and unpurposefully ! If any more questions contact me personally to know my experiences in last 12 years i practised yoga. One smile on the face reduces 50% of any person's stresses within a minute. Last but not the least,Keep smiling, your world will smile which is the secret of lessening tedious practises,as satisfaction is achieved due to knowledge of how to remain satisfied in any circumstances in our life ! read less

If a person does not practice but only wants to teach, he will only make a fool of himself as no one respects him. Practice makes one perfect, so please judge by your knowledge if someone is perfect or only talks!!

Is the question is about yog or asan (only)? Many yogis replied only for asana, that i practice for 1 hour/regularly etc, some of you said yoga instructor vs yogi. I personally think to correct the question or go to the depth of word "yog",. Namastey
