I am the co-founder of a movement community called Aramandi to Attitude (ATA) where we explore different movement styles like dance, martial arts, parkour, etc. More information at www.aramanditoattitude.com. I have been trained for 15 years in Bharatanatyam, an Indian Classical Dance. I have also learned contemporary dance forms for the past 10 years from several artists like Smt. Tanusree Shankar, Jacob Jonas, Bruno Catalano, Gallim Dance Company, FLOCK, Sydney Dance Company, Akram Khan Company, etc. The ATA movement paradigm teaches students to build the strength, flexibility, and balance required for learning different dance forms and teaches how to create movements and choreograph dance pieces. Currently, I am an independent artist who loves to share her interest in movement art with fellow students. I host workshops and regular classes. My work can be found on Instagram at pritha_ahtirp and at aramandi_to_attitude. I am also working as a research scholar studying theoretical biology. We paint the canvas of the space with our movements. I focus on three vital methods: 1. Train your body for strength, flexibility, and balance as the first step to efficiently learn ANY movement style you want. 2. Learn how to apply your training and CREATE your own movements! We share our paradigm and pedagogy that help us break free from creative blocks and develop our own movements through improvisation. 3. Now that you can visualize and execute your own moves, learn to build a choreography around it!! We explore how to develop a movement piece using space, people, and anything around us.
