 In your second task of writing, you will be asked to write an essay (250 words minimum). You will be asked an opinion based on the question given to you.

Here are some tips you need to keep in mind before you start answering:

  1. Have a planned mindset: This gives you the advantage to organise your thoughts clearly. Decide in your mind what you agree and disagree on and why. 
  2. Spend a total of 40 minutes on your task, so you have ample time to write 250 words. 
  3. Use a formal tone of writing: Professionals will grade you, so make sure to use a formal tone.
  4. Introduce the essay by paraphrasing the question. This helps you show your vocabulary skills to the examiner. Use an online thesaurus while practising.
  5. When it comes to the main body, talk about the first argument and follow it with an example. Make sure the example you give is of your own experience and sounds genuine. Your paragraph should have: 
  • An introduction
  • A Detailed explanation
  • Followed by an example.
  1. In your second paragraph, give a second viewpoint. Follow the same procedure as mentioned above.
  2. Conclude your essay by offering your thoughts about the topic. Give a brief overview of what you have said.
