GUIDELINES:

  • Follow the angle of Projection.
  • Not necessary to provide 3-views, if two views are sufficient to cover all details
  • The orientation of the parts shall be shown inline concerning actual assembly.
  • Extension lines of one dimension shall not cross the other dimension.
  • Dimension lines shall be shown in line with the dimensions shown in the base view.
  • No repetition of dimension.
  • Typical dimensions (Typ.), applicable only for symmetrical parts about any axis.
  • Avoid redundant dimensions; if unavoidable, use REF.
  • Diameter dimensions shall always be shown with the view, where the entire circularity is seen.
  • If the part has many numbers of holes, then it is good to show with notations like ax5 (a type hole 5 Nos)
  • Critical dimensions are shown with **
  • Theoretical exact dimensions shall be enclosed with a rectangular border.
  • Slot dimension shall be marked with outer size in the order of the X and Y-axis direction. Ex: Slot 50x10 mean slot whose external dimension of 50mm lengthwise and 10mm along the Y-axis
  • Leave a standard gap of 1.5mm between part and dimension lines.
  • Use the appropriate feature frame.
  • Blank development, if any, shall be shown so that the user can easily interpret it.
